Wolf-Maximilian Liebich
Maximilian / Max Liebich is a film composer, sound designer and film director. His artistic journey began in Carinthia, where he realised his first film projects and founded the cultural initiative “Kultur in der Mühle” alongside intensive music-making. After studying philosophy in Vienna, he deepened his work on film and studied film directing at the Vienna Film Academy (University of Music and Performing Arts) under Peter Patzak, Michael Haneke and Wolfgang Murnberger. During his directing studies, WML received numerous commissions as a sound designer and composer for arthouse, documentary, experimental and genre films. Among the accolades he has received are awards such as a nomination for the Austrian Film Award in the category Best Music for the film Rubikon in 2023 as well as for the documentary film She Chef in 2024, the Promotion Award of Carinthia for Electronic Media, Photography and Film in 2022.
